Stengel bzw. Stamm: Dichte, ungefähr doppelhandbreite Polster, rund, unregelmäßig: Triebe rundlich, mit starkem, in der Erde verborgenem, basalem Teil, oberer Teil 2,5—3 cm Ø; Areolen dick hellfilzig, in den jüngsten Areolen lockerer Filz, bis 7 mm Ø; Stacheln allseits unregelmäßig spreizend, 1—3—6. verschieden lang, zuweilen etwas gekrümmt, dunkelfarbig, zuweilen heller gespitzt, bis ca. 2,5 cm lang

Vorkommen: Peru (Cordillera Negra, ca. 4000 m)
