Blatt: Neue Blätter im Sommer; Blätter eiförmig bis eiförmig-lanzettlich; Fiedern spitz, das basale Paar nach vorne ragend; Nebenadern mit 3(4) Verzweigungen.
Stengel bzw. Stamm: Rhizomschuppen 3-6(-10) mm, eiförmig-lanzettlich.
Blüte: Sori elliptisch; Paraphysen fehlend; Annulus mit 7-10 häutigen Zellen, gewöhnlich farblos oder blassbraun.
Vorkommen: Westeuropa, Mitteleuropa, nordwärts bis Schottland und ostwärts bis zum Baltikum.
